In the early 1950's, Sid Dubin came to Oaklyn
and purchased Suburban Lumber Company. He had decided to do something that no Lumber Yard was doing at the time, by extending credit to just about anyone. That practice opened up doors of opportunity for many, and helped to provide livelihood to anyone who was willing to work hard and make a living. As years went by, the New Jersey Lumber Yard prospered. In the late 60's his son Steve gradually took over, and after Sid passed away, Steve dedicated himself to the family tradition of service and friendship that had become so familiar to all who did business with Suburban Lumber. With a unique blend of humor and business knowledge, Steve Dubin built the business up to over 500 accounts. Tragically though, Steve’s life was cut short. He was survived by two sons, Michael and Richard.
